F.A.Q.

The scholarship award is paid in one payment to the recipient and the school he/she is attending.

The scholarship will be paid at the first semester you attend college.

To get the first installment, the recipient must be enrolled, at a full-time status, with a college, trade, vocational, or technical school. Evidence of this full-time status should be sent to the Jefferson Scholarship Fund Treasurer by e-mail (info@jeffersonscholarship.org) or by mailing to Jefferson Scholarship Fund, PO Box 523, Rigby, ID 83442.  A class schedule, showing the number of credits for each class, is an example of verification that could be sent to the treasurer.  The recipient should also include their full name and their student ID number.  A check for the total amount of the scholarship award will be sent to the college financial aid office in the name of the college and the recipient.

You have 3 years, from the date of your high school graduation to begin your post-secondary education and use your awarded scholarship.  If you have a valid reason for delaying your post-secondary education (i.e.:military service, religious mission, ect.), you MUST submit a request for a 2-3 year deferral of your scholarship stating what you will be doing and why the deferral is being requested.  The scholarship money must be requested for use and paid no later than September 30th of the third year following graduation.  If no request is submitted and or used it shall expire and cannot be used thereafter.  Submit your request for a deferral to the Jefferson Scholarship Fund via e-mail (info@jeffersonscholarship.org) or by mail PO Box 523, Rigby, ID 83442.

Your scholarship will be paid to the institution of higher learning, where you are enrolled.  The institution will apply your funds to any outstanding fees you may have with them.  In the event that there are no outstanding fees, your scholarship can be used to pay for room, board, books, or any other financial obligation you incur, incidental to obtaining a post-secondary degree or certificate.
